This is a little late in coming, but I just really want to annoy K and let him know that I am more than willing to throw some love his way in my tumblr posts. Plus, I gotta blog about the “magic date” of Seattle (when the sun finally comes out forever after) and give it a little spotlight. It was definitely a lovely run-around-seattle day.
Starting downtown, I went to watch Spiderman with some other interns. It was quite honestly so much better than the previous series, with so much less whiny girl and more techy sci fi :]. We grabbed grilled cheese sandwiches afterwards and pretty much slept in the sun next to the water. One of M’s coworkers also introduced us to the cutest little donut stand in Pike Place
Fresh donuts!
Their cinnamon sugar and powdered donuts were delicious :]. Crispy on the outside and melty on the inside and definitely gave me my donut/Krispy-Kreme-cravings fix for the summer.
Of course two desserts are always better than one, and since last time we were downtown K wasn’t able to make it to his beloved TCBY (yea, Red Mango just wasn’t good enough for him), we decided to get us some froyo after donuts. I’ve never heard of this chain before, but it had some interesting flavors, including frozen greek yogurt.
Of course I had to get my berries, with greek yogurt & honey, strawberry lemonade sorbet, and fruit punch. I don’t really know if it’s the country’s best yogurt, but I am definitely more into tart flavors which they didn’t really have.
After too much food, I finally went to meet up with V and N at the boat festival. I’m literally a kid, so it wasn’t the boats that got my attention but the fountain splashing and kite coloring. Plus..more napping on the dock.
We tried to meet up with people at Gasworks afterwards but we couldn’t find anyone, got distracted by face painting and roasted corn, and ended up going back to my place to watch the fireworks from the balcony, eat asian food, and take silly pictures. As a random ending note, here is the cute owl kid I saw while waiting in line for face painting. Reminds me of Guardians of Ga’hoole.
