Second week down, coding away, and I have quite a few updates. I’m glad my work station is finally set up because I was definitely getting antsy after that first week. On that same you’re-actually-working-now track, I started hitting up the gym and trails to test out my ankle. It’s still sore, but I’m proud of myself for being consistent the past 4 days.
Current mile count: 8
I’d like to keep track of this just cause even though I might skip some days from being lazy or doing strength workouts instead, I wanna show myself that I have actually been working out this summer. Somewhat. It’s just nice to see the progress :].
Today was nice because I figured out the first steps in my project and moved onto the main part, which I still need to break up into milestones. It sucks not being able to talk about my work though, cause there’s no content to go with these posts. I guess that’s what weekend adventures are for though – storytime!
After the weekly Friday happy hour at the AWS kegerator, I met up with a bunch of other interns to watch The Dictator. It was pretty much everything you’d expect from a Sasha Baron Cohen movie…and surprisingly there was really not that much nudity. It was overall a decent movie (and of course full of crude jokes) and if you’re into that sort of stuff I’d recommend it.
We tried to hit up Gordon Biersch afterwards but it was 21+ only, so we crossed the street to Von’s Roast House & 1000 spirits.
I mostly took this picture b/c A needs some inspiration…I was reminded of her when I saw the first drink on the left, and to say….FALSE ADVERTISMENT. There are only 975!! They did have an awesome room with all the different taps on the wall though :].
I’m not really sure what happened but we split into all the Indian people…and the non-Indian people (they split our group for seating convenience). So I basically have a bunch of new Canadian friends and one from Ohio. D was obsessed with the idea of white sand beaches. Which matches his go-to beer choice of Corona with lime I guess. Apparently Canadians don’t spend much time at the beach :P.
On the way back I had a lovely wait at the underground bus station because everyone was leaving the mariners game and every bus was full. I had a great conversation with a random guy that started with my feet…and how he did a double take because he thought I wasn’t wearing any shoes. Now I know my feet are tan…but apparently Rainbows are not a common thing up here and apparently my feet blend in. J basically said that was totally awkward turtle, but I just thought it was funny.
